Amid the saga around the release of the Jeffery Epstein files, claims surfaced that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Southern District of New York (SDNY) courthouse are withholding the documents, causing a delay in its release. A copy of a letter, reportedly from AG Pam Bondi to the Director of the FBI, Kash Patel, has surfaced on social media. However, as of now, the claims are unsubstantiated, and there is no evidence to suggest that the two institutions are withholding the files.

There were other similar posts that claimed that the FBI and the SDNY are working to hide the Jeffery Epstein files. For instance, Gunther Eagleman, a popular Trump supporter on X, said that legal actions should be taken against the courthouse and the federal agency if they try to hide the Epstein files.
“If FBI Agents at SDNY are actively interfering with Pam Bondi’s attempts to get documents regarding Epstein, they should face criminal charges IMMEDIATELY, Eagleman wrote, along with the viral letter, allegedly from AG Bondi.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, several right wing influencers, such as Laura Loomer. Jack Posobiec, Mike Cernovich, and Patrick Bet-David, among others, were pictured at the White House with a copy of the Phase I of the Epstein files. The photos sparked rumours that the files have already been released, and could soon drop on social media.
However, Loomer, who is close to President Trump, clarified in a post on X that the files were not released on Thursday.
“So basically the Epstein files weren’t released today,” Loomer wrote. “The American people were lied to about a ‘Day 1 Release’ so they had to have an emergency gathering of paid social media influencers at the White House to convince the right that a promise made was kept.

Attorney General Pam Bondi had said that the files could be released as early as Thursday, February 27. However, she did not specify an exact date when the files would be released.
